Overall Satisfaction with CodeSignal
CodeSignal is primarily used as a tool for hiring by software engineering roles. Provides a good standardization of the initial skill level for software developers which can be used by the company to screen the candidates. It provided a good way for employers to screen candidates. I have used it as a consumer and not for hire.
- Initial screening of low quality candidates
- Feedback around speed, skill, and accuracy of the candidate
- Provides a practice center that can be useful for training for candidates.
- UI is a bit confusing . I mean the pop out flow for accepting/rejecting a test. I had mistakenly rejected a company test and there was no way to even revert.
- Should have a better question difficulty level mapping. I scored 829 and 847 in separate tests and many companies only screen 840+ students. Either the customer(company) should be made aware of the variance of scores of good candidates of the platform or the variance of the scores for same candidate can be reduced by better problem setting.
- Screen candidate
- Practice test
- Other metrics for screening
- HackerRank and Codility
It has a better marking system and evaluates different parameters as compared to other platforms. I didn't really select the platform as I am user who gave tests. It was mandatory for me to use the platform to qualify for interviews. CodeSignal does have a good UI and ease of use. The marking scheme is also different.
