Overall Satisfaction with Conga Composer

We use Composer in several ways, from generating our Agreements with customers to merging key details from related records into automated emails that allow us to maintain our customer relationships. The primary business problem that we implemented Composer for was to digitally transform the end of our sales process, which was a very manual process of entering details into a PDF agreement and handing it off to different departments after the sales process. After implementing Composer for this use case, we identified savings of approximately two FTEs worth of work.

Pros

  • Merges values across several related records.
  • Has a range of parameters that lets you customize your document generation.
  • Easily integrates into Salesforce.

Cons

  • The Template Builder needs attention it has not been updated in some time.
  • The parameter helper has been broken for some time and was a great tool for building solutions.
  • The UI for admins needs a face lift.
  • We have been able to automate several of our business processes.
  • We have been able to identify ROI in the amount of manual work saved.
The setup of the document templates can be complicated, especially when used, but once the solutions are set up, they run fairly seamlessly and can be updated without too much effort.
We have digitally transformed several of our previously manual processes across several departments. This has helped streamline our business and has improved the quality of documents and records.

Composer works well for generating many types of documents. We have used it for sales agreements, operations, and design documents. We have also found it useful for merging field values into HTML email templates. However, if the document is more complex, such as a legal document where you need to swap out terms or sections, standard Composer is not great for this. Conga has other solutions that can handle these types of documents.

Using Conga Composer

3 - We have one main developer who sets up and maintains the Composer Solutions and two other support users who help troubleshoot and maintain solutions.
  • Advertising Agreements.
  • Customer relationship email process.
  • Project management process.
  • There are so many opportunities it automate documents and save working hours.
We plan on continuing use of this tool.
