Overall Satisfaction with Control-M

We use it for running scripts, MFT to Cloud and much more. We use Control-M API, Forecast and running appx 700 jobs a day. We are planning to move to Helix for Control-M but maybe year 2027. We transfer file to Kubernetes, Google Cloud Storage and Ms Azure Blob Storage.

Pros

  • Awesome scheduling
  • Awesome File Transfer
  • Very well documented API

Cons

  • The Desktop Client is much better than the Web Client.
  • Keeping SLAs

Using Control-M

3 - Unix, Scripting, Windows Server and knowledge about Cloud technology. SQL knowledge is also good to have. I think it is also important to have some social skills. You will need to talk to people in your organisation (developers, Product Owners etc) and convince them and make them understand the full potential of Control-M

SAP might be our next ERP-system. If so i think we will have lots of use with Control-M when it comes to orchestrate integrations OnPremises, in the cloud and in hybrid mode. Also with the SAP plugin and run jobs in the SAP env. We also move apps from the Cloud back to OnPremises (due to high cost) and Control-M will be an important team player in that transformation.
