Supply Chain Modeling
Overall Satisfaction with Coupa Supply Chain Design & Planning
I have used Coupa for network optimization a while back, determining strategy related to where our facilities should be located, what facilities should support production for which markets, etc. I have recently used it for safety stock optimization and inventory strategy-related goals. The SSO models manage about $100M in inventory for the company I work for.
Pros
- Network Optimization
- Safety Stock Optimization
- Transportation Optimization
Cons
- Community user group
- Free, accessible training
- Simulation to solve the problem...not just to test the optimized solution against
- Safety stock optimization
- Network optimization
- Transportation optimization
- Service level up
- Inventory down
- Sensing issues with our supply chain in near real-time
We evaluated a ton of other solutions; With some solutions, I liked their simulation aspects better. Coupa (formerly LLamasoft), can model with a duration-based service level target. That was the only solution I saw that offered that service level definition (Type 1: event-based, or Type 2: Quantity based)
