Overall Satisfaction with CSRconnect

The Giving Place is our online platform that makes volunteering and giving back to your community easy for all of our employees enterprise wide (US + Asia). Employees can visit The Giving Place to find and sign up for volunteer events in their location, suggest volunteer events that work with charities they are passionate about, log hours and keep track of their volunteerism and manage their charitable giving.
  • Dollars for Doers Volunteer Grant program features are very easy to use and manage.
  • Cause cards are a great incentive available through CSR connect.
  • Searching for charities to contribute dollars to is easy to navigate.
  • The Engagement Elements are very user-friendly and easy to update on the admin side. Our employees love them and how easy they are to find and click through.
  • There is not a blogging feature, it would be great to have that as an innovative feature in the future. Many firms are lookign at new ways to always share their stories, story tell, and allow their employees to share their volunteer and charitable giving passions.
  • It would be very beneficial if external NPOs could create events within CSRconnect on the compamy's behalf. This would help drive volunteerism and the administrative burden.
  • There are a lot of steps to "Give" to an NPO and also request a company match.
  • There are no generic toolkits to help onboard new companies to show them how to set up different features i.e. playbook. There is not a guide that outlines the different tools and functions, etc.
  • Our employees love the platform, for the most part. It takes our associates some time to launch the CSRconnect platform, and we can't determine if that is a firewall issue with SSO causing the delay in CSRconnect loading or a connection issue on the vendor's side.
  • We need to spend more time in the reporting and Tableau features, but our account manager Alexandra Harland has really helped us pull reporting when needed, She has also been very good about recording trainings and sharing those trainings with us after so we can easily reference them.
  • Payroll has been a constant issue between the vendor's team and our team; after a few months of trying different things because we were experiencing exceptions with every report, we finally just in October pulled a report with no exceptions.
With new features rolling out all of the time, esp with reporting, it's not always easy to understand right away from the admin side of things. One must invest in take the time to learn the ins and outs. I think from a user perspective its fairly easy, sometimes there are more steps then one would like, but it's pretty easy to navigate.
I was not impressed with our implementation experience from Good Done Great to YourCause. Our project plan was rarely up to date, it would have been nice to have PDF documents outlining what we would be able to see and customize when we got access to the UAT site, there were also some communication gaps because our team was learning as we went, and some things you just have to learn once you get access to the platform to fully understand the useability. I do think our account manager, Alexandra Harland supports too many clients. I wish she sometimes had more flexibility to stay over on calls, or jump on a call if a pop up was requested, etc. However, she is very knowledgeable and helpful. We do request a lot of time and attention and we ask many, many questions because our associates are very engaged. One could say we are needy.
We did not have a very good implementation experience. As a team that was inexperienced on a CSR platform, we had many questions and it would have been ideal to have toolkits and guidebooks or even more visuals. YourCause also didn't have many communication templates we could leverage so we built all our own FAQs and instruction toolkits for our associates to leverage and understand how they could use CSRconnect.
I think for organizations that offer many levels of CR programming such as grants, dollars for doers, etc., one needs a corporate responsibility (CR) platform. Our company specifically vetted YourCause and Benevity, and we stayed with YourCause because we had previously been on Good Done Great and it was easy for us to migrate our data and of course, keep our account manager, Alexandra Harland. I don't believe there is one perfect platform.
