Overall Satisfaction with Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room

I work at a private equity / growth investment firm, so we use Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room primarily when we are considering new investments and the sellers typically upload their datarooms to Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room. In addition, when we sell some of our investments, we also use Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room. Ocassionally, we use Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room post-investment for file sharing / hosting.

Pros

  • User-friendly interface. We download datarooms for a single deal over 30+ times per deal (as the dataroom gets updated), so the interface being easy to access / navigate is extremely important.
  • Features: Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room gives great tools beyond just downloading a dataroom. Easy notifications when something gets downloaded, two factor authentication, ability to search data room or filter for recently uploaded files, etc.
  • Organization: A lot of data rooms do not allow you to keep organized file paths. When you download a dataroom it often looses all the index folder names. Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room keeps files extremely organized and is always available.

Cons

  • More interaction with data room admins. Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room has some of these features, not they are not easily accessible. Instead of emailing the bankers when we need something in the dataroom, it would be nice to request it directly in the portal.
  • Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room saves us time, so it has a very high ROI. Most deal processes go very fast (often times less than a month), so wasting time on trading files over email is a bad use of time.
Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room is one of the most easily accessible data rooms. A lot of other data rooms are not intuitive to follow--sometimes it is not obvious how to download a file or to sort files by the latest uploads since a specific date. I've never had any issues using Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room, and it is always reliable.
I think Intralinks is the closest competitor. Relative to the rest of the providers (outside of Intralinks), Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room is easier to use and more reliable.

For any deal diligence / private equity investment activity, Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room is one of the best providers. The website is easy to use, it has all the features of the top competitors, it is secure, and it is priced in line with its competitors. I would highly recommend Datasite Diligence Virtual Data Room to any PE or VC investor.
