Db2 on cloud

Overall Satisfaction with Db2

We use IBM Db2 to store and manage data for customer services. The data is well organized and we can easily access when needed. It solves some common problems that we face such as slow reporting, data errors while handling large amounts of information.
We generally prefer using it for day-to-day tasks. Also, we are looking at data to make better decisions. We use it only via cloud.

Pros

  • We deal with a large data of our customers along with their transactions, Db2 helps us to manage it very efficiently without slowing down.
  • Db2 provides security that helps us to keep our customer's confidential data safe.
  • It helps us to generate month end reports very fast due to it's efficient queries.

Cons

  • Data Studio feels little outdated, can be enhance and make user friendly.
  • Month end reportings are automated which saves a lot of time.
  • There is very less downtime which is very efficient.
The most valuable is its security due to its encryption and the automation regarding the reporting. Also, the speed of queries is very fast even if data is large. It makes it more reliable and efficient.
Nope, there is not something like which was not possible earlier. It was possible but with some more efforts. We can say it has reduced the efforts.

Do you think Db2 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Db2's feature set?

Yes

Did Db2 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Db2 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Db2 again?

Yes

I can say, it suits for scenarios related to financial transactions as it is secure and very fast.
And may be for startups or small projects, it should be less appropriate as data will be unstructured there and we can prefer noSQL there.
