Overall Satisfaction with DbVisualizer

I use it to test data queries before putting the query into another application for automated reporting and ro pull ad hockey data requests

Pros

  • Easy access to all of my data sources at once
  • Multiple tabs that can keep frequently used queries open
  • Pinpoint errors in coding when you have a typo

Cons

  • When you select a database and schema at the top, you shouldn't have to type it again in the from statement. I found i have to When not pulling from the default schema using my Ms sql server database. Snowflake seems to work.
  • I like auto complete for writing queries. But found it hard to use in DbVisualizer. I've had it off for years. Can give it another try. Don't even remember why I didn't like it
  • I wish I could organize my groupings by schema in a database not just get a long list with all schemas and tables. Would reduce scrolling
  • Allows me to reduce time when validating data across data warehouses
I use it daily without thinking, "I wish I could do "x" with this tool
