Overall Satisfaction with Dell SonicWALL Email Security Series Appliances
We use our Dell SonicWALL ESA 3500 across our whole organization. We use it for business to business VPNs, client VPNs, content web filtering, antivirus gateway, and firewalling between different security zones. We have multiple units providing different layers of internet security for our internal secure network as well as our guest users coming into the hospital.
- Simple GUI interface where everything is in one location and easy to use.
- Simple setup, but allows you to be flexible with different security zones.
- Robust, stays up and running.
- Support lacks quick feedback.
- Support knowledge of their own product is lacking.
- Great ROI, as we have been able to keep the same model running for 7+ years without any issues. We pay an annual fee for support, antivirus licensing, content filter updates, etc., and the product keeps running.
- Initial cost is much lower than other products such as Cisco.
- When we started with SonicWALL they offered a trade in on our Watchguard, although I don't know if they do that anymore.
- WatchGuard XTM
We switched from Watchguard to SonicWALL because of the ease of use and everything was located in one place. At the time Watchguard was changing to force you to use a server to manage your VPNs, and we didn't see a reason to have to manage another product when it should have been able to do everything itself. SonicWALL met and exceeded our expectations.
