Overall Satisfaction with DISCO

DISCO is used mainly by our litigation attorneys, but also by some select practice groups like School Law. Before DISCO, we used Concordance which was a great product back in the day but hasn't kept up with some of the newer technology offerings like AI, predictive tagging, visual timelines, native productions, etc. DISCO has these features which is crucial for getting through large scale document reviews. We have an obligation to keep costs down for the client and DISCO has done that for us.
  • Easy to use: I can get new document reviewers up and running quickly. Basic training in about 30 minutes; more advanced training in about an hour.
  • Excellent Knowledgebase: Any time I have a question, I run a search in DISCO's knowledge base and the answer is there, often, too, with a corresponding video demonstrating how to do something.
  • Easy to filter data by almost anything: Filtering is intuitive and users report it's one of their favorite features.
  • Good looking platform: OK, this doesn't get talked about a lot, but if you're going to be looking at a database for hours at a time, it should be visually pleasing!
  • Salespeople are not pushy: As a manager, I get a lot of calls from vendors and when a vendor such as DISCO gently checks in from time-to-time it's noticed and appreciated.
  • Ingestion sometimes fails or gets hung up: On occasion, an ingestion will get hung up. It just requires a call or ticket to tech support and the problem gets resolved.
  • Lack ability re-load individual files: Sometimes, there's a need to substitute a file and it can be done but requires a call to tech support or the project manager. Otherwise, you have to back out the entire ingest, make the adjustment in the file and reload.
  • Ability to share (or portions of a database) with outside users Being a cloud-based platform, DISCO is a great product when you need to share a database between co-counsel.
  • Storage: Over time, we will be able to reduce our on-premise storage costs.
  • Visual tImeline: DISCO's visual timeline is useful and easy to use.
  • Email threading in near dups: These features enable us to perform document review faster thereby saving clients' money.

Document Productions are very easy to run.

Easy to Use Platform means that I can get even the most reluctant user to use the product effectively.

Knowledge Base is robust and has corresponding tutorial videos.

Using DISCO's flat-rate pricing does help predict costs. Modern-day clients are more aware of costs and want to know the costs upfront. The use of DISCO has driven down the cost of document review which is the most costly stage in any matter.
Using DISCO has freed up our Litigation Support technicians who were previously bogged down with in-house processing all the time. They are now able to assist with other projects. DISCO's searches are incredibly fast even though it's cloud-based. Attorneys and paralegals report that document review is easy in DISCO. Litigation Support professionals like DISCO because they can easily customize database rights for certain users.
From their Salesforce to support technicians to client success agents to project managers, my experience has been great.
DISCO is best suited for larger data sets otherwise you may be subjected to a minimum fee which may or may not be cost-effective for the matter. DISCO is great if you need to share database access with co-counsel or local counsel. Salesforce is knowledgeable and helpful. Productions are very easy to run (and re-run, if necessary). Project managers are well-trained and generally, accessible and responsive.
