Overall Satisfaction with DISCO Ediscovery

This was used by a specific team in my organization to review files we were receiving from an outside client. We needed to be able to code the various files for certain issues, highlight key search terms that the files hit on, and batch them out to specific people.
  • Intuitive website design
  • Clear metrics available to show review progress
  • Highlighting of search terms seemed buggy, particularly, when we were doing Boolean searches
  • Better deduplicating ability
  • [We] likely saved money compared to other document hosting platforms.
Flagging documents as exhibits and saving them in folders was a convenient way to organize documents and have them ready for presentations. The review metrics were very helpful in terms of seeing how many documents had been reviewed, by which reviewers, and what the general coding results were.
I don't know how much the cost of other document hosting platforms is. My impression was DISCO eDiscovery is less expensive. However, compared to other platforms I've used, it required more coordination between our team and the in-house team to adjust search parameters, create batches, etc. I'm unclear if this was because the in-house team had control over the platform and we didn't.
Reviewing documents was quite fast and I ran into less time-out errors than I have on other platforms.
I'm not sure this is applicable to me. The ability to see overall review statistics was helpful from a project management perspective, as it was a quick way to get a sense of where we were in the review and what our general findings were. It was nice to have that easily accessible from the user end of the platform.
We didn't actively make the decision to use DISCO. The client told us they wanted to use it for this particular project. As mentioned before, I think it was faster in terms of reviewing the actual documents, but it required a lot of back and forth with the in-house team to get the right searches set up, the right coding panels, etc.
For the user, DISCO was more intuitive to use and navigate. It also seemed to load documents faster than some other platforms. However, it felt like the search and filtering capabilities were less advanced.

Do you think DISCO Ediscovery delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with DISCO Ediscovery's feature set?

No

Did DISCO Ediscovery live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of DISCO Ediscovery go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy DISCO Ediscovery again?

Yes

DISCO [eDiscovery] was very intuitive to use compared to other document hosting platforms like Relativity and Ringtail. However, I found it had less capability in terms of advanced filtering and searching. For instance, we were told you can't flag all files that have a specific characteristic and then remove those from the search group. I think it would be well-suited to more straightforward document review projects where you won't be sifting through a lot of duplicates or need more advanced search capabilities.
