Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

Both my coworker and I use DraftSight as a design tool to size our customers' PV solar systems. It helps create plan sets and electrical drawings to prepare for permitting and interconnection.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Clear designs

Cons

  • Whenever I save a file, a folder named "good" is created. I can't figure out how to stop that
  • Simpler and cheaper than AutoCAD
  • Fewer features
DraftSight is very helpful to sketch up plans and clearly show our customers what the system will look like.
It does not let the customer look at a 3D model or check the solar irradiation.
