Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Many of the legacy prints that we have were originally designed on DraftSight. To this day, we still use DraftSight to maintain and modify these prints. We have looked at other CADD programs that can access DWG files but none were as cost effective and had the features that DrafSight has.

Cost Effective for the features that it offers
Ability to access and modify DWG files.

Cons

The commands that are on the higher versions are shown on the toolbars of the lover versions

Return on Investment

Originally DraftSight had a free version but the $99/year is not bad in recent years.

Alternatives Considered

AutoCAD

AutoCAD Light was looked at but was a lot more expensive
