Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

Draftsight is used by an individual. Engineering is an aside department in a building material manufacturing company.

Pros

  • Easy to use
  • Absolutely compatible with standard drawing formats.
  • Very good quality/cost ratio.

Cons

  • Windows integration. Copy and paste as a picture of drawing parts.
  • Integration of geographic pictures with drawing.
  • Not evaluated
Easy to use. Cost. Easy to install. Not a heavy application.
A support tool for documentation drawings already designed by others. Helps to integrate drawings of subparts or sub installations into bigger overall drawings. Useful to evaluate the integration of subcontractor equipment into general plant drawings. Evaluation of different solutions into an existing environment (plant or installation). Could be interesting if some features of 3D drawing could be improved. No need to reach Solidworks (best 3D environment), but a bit more tools could be interesting.
