Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

I do a lot of lighting layouts for our customers and I use Draftsight to clean up layers, add dimensions, and make things clearer on the exported files. I am the only one that uses the software and like the simplicity.

Pros

  • Simple to use.
  • Simple to understand.
  • Translates easily for any CAD user.

Cons

  • I'd like simple 3D functionality at some point in the future.
  • It has made it possible for me to manipulate CAD files prior to importing them into my lighting software.
I have no need for the functionality of AutoCAD or Revit to accomplish the tasks I need. DraftSight is far more economical and provides what I need it to do.
Draftsight is great for any 2D CAD project. Whether you're using it in conjunction with a lighting software tool or standalone to build simple floor plans, it has all the functionality you need.
