Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight

DraftSight is being used within the mechanical design section of the R & D division as a replacement for AutoCAD as we are transitioning to SOLIDWORKS but need to be able to quickly and easily modify existing drawings. We have twenty plus years of AutoCAD data much of which is still for current product.

We are Transitioning to the SOLIDWORKS platform in all new designs, having used AutoCAD for many years. DraftSight enables us to continue using the AutoCAD drawings and make modifications without having to spend time converting the drawings to SOLIDWORKS 2D files.
SOLIDWORKS, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365), Microsoft Teams
A great tool for modifying existing 2D drawing, and a cost effective alternative to AutoCAD. Where draftsmen were trained on paper drawings it is a powerful tool as they tend to be able to think in 3D and convert from 2D, where draftsmen have been trained using 3D modelling techniques it can be tricky for them.
