Overall Satisfaction with DraftSight
We use DraftSight in several departments of the company.
- Sales department: To create layouts of our machines in order to send an offer to a customer.
- Engineering department: Create 2D files and modify layouts.
- Manufacturing department: Add modifications that have been done during commissioning.
- Laser department: Edit files in order to adapt them to other programs.
Pros
- Easy export to other formats.
- Friendly user interface.
- Autosave.
Cons
- Blocks are not good enough.
- The program freezes without high demand of resources.
- Decrease our annual costs on software.
- Allow us to minimize our time to answer customer.
- Easy to learn, new workers start early to produce.
- SOLIDWORKS and CATIA
I cannot compare a 2D sofware against 3D software.
I have started to use DS because of the needs of my job. We provide our customer with a layout of their factories including our machines in 2D. DraftSight was the first option when we had to choose the best software to do this tasks.
