If you DON’T want ROI or the ability to find root cause select DX Application Performance Management!
Overall Satisfaction with DX Application Performance Management (formerly CA APM)
DX Application Performance Management is primarily used as a legacy monitoring tool to look at limited metrics which provides a limited perspective on application uptime or health. It is also used to attempt to pinpoint root cause for performance issues. By running performance tests that exhibit performance issues the tool is employed in order to attempt to assess root cause. It’s the tool that everyone begrudgingly has to use and loves to hate.
Pros
- Presents real time metrics
- Presents real time graphs
Cons
- Entire product is cumbersome
- Excellent at presenting false positives
- DX Application Performance Management is a paid tool that provides no actual ROI
- DX Application Performance Management does not meet our requirements
DX Application Performance Management can never compete with Dynatrace, New Relic, or AppDynamics. DX Application Performance Management was selected as a preferred vendor not on actual requirements, use cases, or effectiveness. You would be better using a log search tool or no APM tool at all.
