Overall Satisfaction with e-automate

We use e-automate to log service calls and create bills for meter readings. This allows us to stay organized and keep track of all the history on service calls and meter readings.

Pros

  • Keeps track record of history for service calls (parts used on the calls, arrival and departure times, tech remarks, etc.)
  • Has an option to estimate meters and the system does it automatically when you push a button.
  • It allows you to create your own unique rules within the database.

Cons

  • The transfer orders have always seemed a little more difficult for me. You have to create the transfer order, hit okay, then go back and hit transfer. I feel like this should be a one-step process.
  • I've always thought it was weird that re-scheduled (incomplete) calls are generated as a new call number. I think it'd make more sense to keep the same call number and add a "-1."
  • I wish there was a way to look in the equipment console and automatically be able to tell if a machine is on a contract. I actually have to open the equipment and go to the contract tab to see if it is or not.
  • When we export to an excel spreadsheet, i wish it would have a column to tell if the machine was on an active contract or not.
  • I like the auto-invoice feature. This has saved a lot of time for us.
  • I like that the database keeps history of every service call for each machine.
  • I like the CALLBACK stamp that gets put on calls with multiple callbacks. This makes it easy for us to pay more attention to those particular machines.
It's very easy to go back and look at call history. This helps us when we have a customer complaint.
Accounting is easy with e-automate. It's much easier to type in a meter and allow the system to auto-create an invoice. When i made manual invoices, it was a lot more time consuming and there was room for error. I like that e-automate will not allow a contract to bill if there is a problem detected, such as a missing begin meter.
I think we use the cloud, but i am not sure. Sorry.
I liked that DDMS allowed you to create anything and everything, freedom to make what you want. But e-automate saves a lot of time in comparison. And if you learn e-automate well enough i think you can also make your own things there as well, such as the rules you can make and run.

It runs pretty smoothly but there is A LOT to learn in order to be able to navigate the system appropriately.
