Overall Satisfaction with EMS Software

Several of our hospitals use EMS to schedule conference rooms in various departments. Each hospital has at least one administrator who assists with day to day issues. Unfortunately, each site has their own ways of using scheduling for their EMS. However, many of the locations include room and catering within EMS. Each site also has the web option of EMS to allow people to request space.
  • Scheduling
  • Room set up
  • Catering
  • Request for whiteboards
  • Upgrades
  • Initial set up
  • Configurations needed when adding new buildings
  • Fast schedule allows minimum client usage
  • Virtual allows user to request access
  • Virtual allows admin to keep control of rooms
Scheduling is easy within EMS. EMS allows for one application for several buildings and sites. TMS is used more for maintenance and repairs. I have more experience with EMS and enjoy the easy calendar view as well as the option to add to my own calendar. Once EMS is configured it can be tweaked fairly quickly.
I support several hospitals in an enterprise. Since I need to work with various admins who have different needs it takes time to coordinate each site needs. Upgrades have to be coordinated and seem to take a good portion of the day. Once upgrades are complete there is normally little follow-up. I believe the vendor test their updates before providing to users.
Working in IT I believe the configurability of EMS is just right. Each of our locations can set up buildings, rooms, catering, and housekeeping of their location to fit their needs. Administrators are able to show or hide rooms from everyday users which allows for control of when areas outside a specific department can schedule room usage.
People who schedule conference rooms, banquet halls, training, and classes. EMS allows many people to view conference schedules so they can pick open times and rooms quickly. Catering can run reports prior to meeting times to assist with scheduling and food prep. Site support can determine additional equipment is needed prior to the scheduled meeting so equipment can be in place.
