Overall Satisfaction with F5 Distributed Cloud WAF (Web Application Firewall)

As far as usage, it's just ensuring that for web facing applications there's that additional layer of protection for outside attackers. I know it's seamless to regular users.

Pros

  • We haven't had an intrusion that we know of, so that's a good sign.

Cons

  • I couldn't really answer this question because I'm not very involved with its advantages and disadvantages and comparisons to other similar products, so I couldn't really answer this question.
  • Just enhancing the intrusion protection when it comes to web facing applications.
I could not answer that question in detail, but again, I can tell you at a high level that again, as someone I do InfoSec governance and risk and controls. So when you don't have an intrusion related to this kind of protection layer, it has impacted us positively.

In my previous company we used Akamai WAF. I know that in my previous company with usage of Akamai there were some issues, but as far as technically how they compare, I couldn't really tell you.

Yes

Because I haven't been involved with its deployment or its ongoing maintenance, I wouldn't be able to answer the question in detail. What I can tell you is that my company First American, we do go through rigorous selection when it comes to products of such importance and sensitivity, if you will. So I can say that, hey, it has passed our technology governance board, so I vouch for it.
