Overall Satisfaction with FACTS Student Information System (formerly RenWeb)

We use FACTS across our organization. Our teachers use it for attendance, grade book tasks, database access, and communication. In the office, we use it for admissions, medical records (nurse staff), billing, donors, alumni, scheduling, hot lunch management, student and parent demographic and contact information, and communication. The business problem FACTS addresses for us is the ability to have all student and family information accessible to all members of our organization. The integration of the different functions ensures that the information accessed is always current.

  • Admissions tracking is possible from initial inquiry all the way to enrollment
  • ParentsWeb enables parents to access school information easily from a desktop or phone app
  • FACTS customer service is outstanding. It is easy to either call or chat, and questions are researched and answered fully.
  • It would be helpful to have all student demographic information on one screen as it was in a previous version. The new version is quite a learning curve, but there is support available which is consistently helpful.
  • Online Application - we have families from overseas and out of state who apply to our school, and having the process completely online makes it easy for them and for us to get accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Create-A-Report - this feature helps me write my Board reports and provide real-time data for them to use in their decision-making.
  • Retention is a goal of every school, and FACTS helps us communicate effectively with our current parents, providing them information and encouraging that partnership with them.
The integration of data across departments and use for both office staff and teachers is why our school chose to use FACTS. It simplifies log-ins, and changes made to data are automatically made in every application. Blackbaud seemed much more difficult to learn and was not as intuitive of a software program, at least according to my experience.
FACTS is well suited to a school that has multiple departments needing to access the same information. A change I make in Admissions is then seen by our Business Director, our Registrar, and the teachers. It seems to be most effective when it is used across departments. I can't think of a school scenario where FACTS would be deemed inappropriate. Even a small school would benefit from the ability to have everything in one place for those who interact with students and parents.

Using FACTS Student Information System (formerly RenWeb)

62 - Accounting (billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable), Medical (compliance with health department, individual student health records), Admissions (inquiries, contacts, applications, enrollment data), Registrar (student and teacher schedules, report cards, grades, attendance), Administrative Assistants (directory, emergency contact information), Fundraising (donor and alumni database management), Maintenance (contact information, communication), and Educators (grades, schedules, communication). Every person in our organization uses some aspect of FACTS.
5 - Knowledge of how FACTS works and how to access information within FACTS, attention to detail, organized.
  • Student and family information management
  • Admissions tracking
  • Gradebook - access by teaches to enter grades and assignments, and access by parents to receive information about grades and assignments
  • Increased tracking ability and reportability of admissions information
  • Integration of medical and emergency contact information
  • Reporting - can use user defined fields to access student or family information quickly and accurately
  • Transfer records to additional areas or departments
It's user-friendly, the customer service is great, and we have a significant amount of time invested in training our faculty and staff to use many aspects of FACTS within their areas of responsibility. I really like the variety of reports I can generate which gives important data to our administration and Board.
