Overall Satisfaction with FactSet Workstation

FactSet Workstation has provided me with all the essential information I need as an analyst to conduct detailed reports on equity securities. It also allows me to monitor our company holdings in clients’ portfolios with ease of use. By having one place to go, I can keep up-to-date on every equity security and save time from jumping back and forth between a company’s investor relations page and other sources during earnings season.

  • AI Capabilities, where FactSet Workstation can quickly provide me with information and consolidate information it holds on its platform
  • Can be difficult to find specific information quickly
  • FactSet Workstation can be challenging to navigate due to its extensive tools
  • FactSet Workstation has certainly cut down the time it takes to search for specific financial metrics such as CAGRs, valuation ratios, and historical financial data.
  • FactSet Workstation has saved time scouring through conference call transcripts and company fillings
FactSet Workstation offers a plethora of tools that I don't find I often use daily; however, the overall usability of the product is very user-friendly. As an example, I often use the search bar at the top of the workstation to find a specific metric I might need in a flash. The company frequently checks in through surveys and user feedback to identify areas where they can improve the usability and experience.
While FactSet Workstation certainly stacks up in terms of quantity of data with other providers, the quality is top-notch. I can directly see the source of each line item on a financial statement which gives me confidence what I see is factual data directly from the companies I follow. The workstation is full of very useful tools like market intelligence where I can stay updated on macro events and what's going on in the markets.

FactSet Workstation is a excellent product for equity research analysts who want to stay up-to-date on their equity holdings and find specific information on publicly traded companies. This includes things like historical financial data, company filings, analyst estimates, and projections. FactSet Workstation is a one stop shop place where I can access everything I would need as a equity analyst working in portfolio management.
