Overall Satisfaction with FortiClient

FortiClient has been used on around 300 devices inside our organization. We have a system that runs behind the firewall (Fortigate NGW) and NAT, so FortiClient plays an important role in allowing users to connect a VPN to use the internal system. Also, all users are working from home so they need to connect a VPN to the office to be able to work.
  • [FortiClient] splits the traffic very well. For example, when users connect a VPN to the office they are connecting to the internal system which uses VPN traffic. If users access the public internet they use the internet traffic, but [Fortinet] does not route this traffic back to the office.
  • FortiNet works very well so I have no suggestions for improvement. The setup and configuration are simple and easy to understand.
  • VPN is very important for us to use because we need to connect to the internal system.
  • I would consider FortiClient to be free of charge because we already paid for the subscription to have FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall.

FortiClient is best for the SMEs that are already using the FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall at their office, especially if they have a lot of systems behind their NAT firewall. I recommend using FortiClient because it has a powerful VPN. If you are using a lot of public domains FortiGate may not be well suited for your network. For example, if you are often running a server/system inside the cloud, such as a public cloud, AWS, Google Cloud, or DigitalOcean server, FortiClient is not well suited to your needs.
