Overall Satisfaction with FortiClient

We use FortiClient for Remote Access VPN and endpoint protection managed via FortiEMS.

Pros

  • SSL VPN
  • AntiVirus

Cons

  • SSLVPN Connection Times
  • Software Deployment
  • Bundling Licensing with other Fortinet Products
  • Consolidating RAVPN Firewalls
It has some nasty bugs and does not always provide the most stable experience when connecting to VPN but once you are connected it is usually a good experience.

Do you think FortiClient delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with FortiClient's feature set?

Yes

Did FortiClient live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of FortiClient go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy FortiClient again?

Yes

FortiClient is nice for existing fortigate shops to implement RAVPN, but it does not seem to be as robust as AnyConnect. If your workforce is not super dependent on the VPN or you are just using the VPN for IT then FortiClient is fine, if you are heavily reliant on VPN I would suggest a more mature client software.
