Overall Satisfaction with Gatling Enterprise
We use Gatling to perform load tests on simple routes without variable extraction, but with very high loads (over 100,000 requests per second). The application we are testing is used for a very short period, typically once a year. It has to manage the simultaneous use of more than 100,000 users over 1 hour, and with 12 injectors in use, we were able to check the application's ability to handle this load.
Pros
- Quick simple report.
- Heavy loads.
- API test.
Cons
- Scripting with user interface.
- More reports.
- Recording user path.
- Re use existing use case.
- Difficult to add other load generator.
- Cost reduction for simple tests.
Gatling can only be used for high-load tests with a paid license and only for tests with a reduced graphical user interface (GUI). Unlike OctoPerf, NeoLoad, or LoadRunner, we are not limited to a fixed number of users per license. Compared with JMeter, Gatling is less resource-intensive and therefore does not require an extensive test infrastructure.
