Overall Satisfaction with Google Cloud Speech-to-Text
Easy to dictate speech to text. Used often times for meetings and on the fly conversations at gemba. Offers impressive accuracy, even if noisy manufacturing environments. Is also capable of converting various sorts of audio sources to text, which is convenient for some who may have trouble hearing or are not present
Pros
- Speech to text
- Accuracy
- Reliable in noisy environments
Cons
- Pricing for large scale usage
- Occasional latency issues
- More language support
- Some thicker accents can cause issues
- Convenience for meeting minutes
- Ease of use for those who cannot type as fast
Overall, the Google Cloud Speech-to-Text accurately processes various audio sources and provides a much improved version of standard closed captioning. It provides much better functionality and accuracy to the integrated Microsoft one. It does have its occasional misses and does process certain people's voices better, but overall can easily look past those.
Much better and more accurate than integrated Microsoft dictate or translate.
