Great for creating a database from audio/video files.
Overall Satisfaction with Google Cloud Speech-to-Text
I used Google Cloud Speech-to-Text for a client project to transcribe audio to text. This text was then saved into a database. The client could search through the audio hundreds of audio files they had quickly. This was a great option for solving this problem with many audio files.
Pros
- Low cost.
- Accuracy
- Speed
Cons
- N/A
- Low cost provides a great ROI while using this API.
- The accuracy of the words was high; I don't recall a time when the API didn't provide accurate results.
- Multiple languages and not just English.
For the right circumstance, Google's Cloud Speech-to-Text API provides the best solution for transcriptions. Depending on your usage, I recommend using it for transcribing audio files and creating a database of the transcripts. You could also convert the audio from video files and use this to determine which video has which keywords.
I didn't see other options that are even competitive with using Google's Cloud Speech-to-Text in terms of cost and reliability.
