Overall Satisfaction with Google Slides

We use Google Slides to design PowerPoint presentations with images, GIFs, videos, and text (written) content for social media clients. This helps us show the visual and text components in the same place. We can also make and view edits in real time. We also rely on the comment and mention features.

Pros

  • Real time editing.
  • Ease of use.
  • Free to use.

Cons

  • Difficult to download images or videos.
  • GIFs do not move.
  • Incompatible with many formats.
  • Operational efficiency.
  • Improved communication and transparency.
  • Faster turnaround on approvals.
Users have to download a separate tool in order to download images, videos, etc. from Google Slides. Unfortunately, this feature is not built into its software automatically, but it should be. It is also difficult to move things around and fully customize the page's look (as you can in Canva and other tools). But having the ability to stay within Google Drive is helpful, and almost everyone has a Google account.
Google Slides has features similar to Canva's presentation tools, but Canva offers more design features (elements, stock photography, stock video, stock audio, fonts, etc.). Google Slides is part of Google Drive, so being able to switch between Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc. is a plus. More people have a Google account than a Canva account, so they are more accustomed to receiving links through this site as well.

Do you think Google Slides delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Google Slides's feature set?

No

Did Google Slides live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Google Slides go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Google Slides again?

Yes

Google Slides is well-suited as a free tool for making presentations, since you do not need a subscription, unlike Microsoft. It is also housed in Google Drive, making it a great tool for organizations that share files in Google. It is not a great choice if you're displaying a lot of videos or GIFs.
