Overall Satisfaction with Gumlet

I create videos for courses I offer from my website. Like any course creator, I want to protect my time and effort in making educational content for my clients and readers. The main reason I looked at Gumlet was due to their ability to use DRM on the videos I upload to them--and then embed in my site. This DRM feature protects both me and my clients' investment in my courses.

Pros

  • video hosting with embedding and streaming
  • customizable video player with automated and editable subtitles
  • protection of content with DRM, whitelisting, and geoblocking
  • analytics and filters of metrics data

Cons

  • onboarding/tutorials could be made more welcoming/easier for beginners
  • descriptions of features/what's included are a bit confusing
  • video is always an investment, so paying for a video host should be decided with care
  • for a while, I was undecided on my video hosting options and that led to me dragging my feet on creating course content, but going with Gumlet removed that worry and allowed me to move forward with my course creation plans
As a beginner in the video course creation field, I would have appreciated a bit more hand-holding through the features, options, and setup process, as the product and process was overwhelming at first. However, once over that learning curve, I found the product itself to be good and that it does what I need it to do.

Do you think Gumlet delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Gumlet's feature set?

Yes

Did Gumlet live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Gumlet go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Gumlet again?

Yes

In my field of course creation, people are always asking for recommendations for video hosting with certain features. Video protection is at the top of that list, and other Gumlet features such as customizable video player would be appealing to many as well.
For video beginners, they might need to start with something like Vimeo and then migrate to Gumlet or other options once they have a library of videos.
