Overall Satisfaction with IBM Apptio

IBM Apptio we use currently to manage our services cost portfolio. Both the Apptio One Plus for Cost Transparency and we are currently introducing Consumption Model and Project Reporting.

Pros

  • Cost Transperancy
  • Cost Expansion/Allocation
  • Cost Reporting

Cons

  • Cost Reporting - more drag and drop features. Move away from HTML for visuals and text features.
  • Easier update of master data in live IT Planning versions.
  • Providing Business visibility
  • Automation
We use forecasting in IT Planning two ways 1) Planned service costs managed by Service Owners 2) Centrally managed forecast were contract costs are allocated to 100s of IT Services and uploaded into Apptio via External costs.
I have had very little person experience with post-sales support team.

Best for complex cost portfolio which takes quite a bit of learnings. I would think it would be to complex of a model for simple cost structures.
