Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers
We have been using Teamcenter constructed on IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers. We have been collaborating using data online systems so far, but we have had to rework due to data selection mistakes, and we needed to change to working in a common platform environment. This system has been [used] by [the] global R&D division with [collaborative] working.
- Excellent robustness
- Excellent maintainability
- Excellent flexibility in system changes
- Response time for network troubles
- The process of isolating the problem
- Setting priorities according to importance
- System installation cost reduced by 75%
- 60% reduction in system operating costs
- 90% reduction in WAN communication costs
Depending on the system load, the configuration can be flexibly changed to increase memory capacity, disk capacity, and disk performance. For example, an increase in the number of application users or their frequency of use may require insufficient disk capacity or even faster response. In this case, performance and capacity can now be flexibly selected and mounted for immediate use. This kind of flexibility is not possible with on-premise server operations.
It is something that is simply not possible with on-premise servers. It used to take about a month from the time we ordered the servers to the time they were delivered. Also, on-premise servers are over-specified to withstand the load for years to come, but the IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers are cost-effective and can be flexibly reconfigured when needed.
- Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
I considered AWS EC2, but found the difference in operating costs compared to IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers to be too great. It is the data transfer fee.AWS EC2: 0 cost for upload, pay-as-you-go for download IBMCloud Bare Metarl Servers: no cost for both upload and downloadIn other words, for AWS EC2, the more frequently downloads are used, the more the operational costs increase. As a result, we chose IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers.
- IBM Cloud Object Storage
Performance and capacity can be flexibly selected according to the increase in system users and disk consumption, enabling optimal cost management.

Upgrading IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers
Yes - No, the release upgrade process was uneventful. The new Bare Metal Server is provisioned within about 3 hours of ordering. We were able to track the progress of the provisioning process, so there was no stress. The process of exporting the existing virtual server and importing it into the new server was completed quickly. Existing data was copied without any problems.
