Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Object Storage

Pros

  • IBM storage manages large and growing data smoothly and also keeps data safe and available for long time.
  • Easy to connect with analytics and AI tools, saving a great amount of time.
  • Strong security with encryption and access control. Easy to adapt and learn.

Cons

  • Access control is strong, but setting roles and policies not very simple. Needs better guidance.
  • Works well with IBM tools, but connecting with some third-party apps needs extra effort.
  • Easier to meet data retention and audit rules. Encryption and access logs helped us pass 3 internal audits smoothly. Helped with compliance.
  • IT team spends less time fixing storage issues. That time now goes into innovation and support, boosting overall output.
  • Around 15–20% reduction in storage cost after moving to IBM Cloud Object Storage, thanks to auto-tiering and pay-as-you-use model.
The most valuable part of IBM Cloud Object Storage is how it handle big data without stress. It scale up easy, no need to change infra. Auto-tiering help cut cost by moving old files to cheaper space.
Before, we had limits on storing huge unstructured data and accessing it fast. Now we can keep TBs of logs, backups, and raw files without worrying about space or speed.
We compared IBM Cloud Object Storage with Amazon S3 and chose IBM mainly because of its better cost control across regions, smooth integration with our existing IBM tools, and strong built-in security.

IBM storage is well suited for storing logs from support systems, backups from internal tools, and raw data for AI training. We needed something that scales easy, keeps data safe long term, and connects well with our existing setup. IBM fit that need.

IBM Cloud Object Storage Reliability

We rarely face downtime or access issues with IBM Cloud Object Storage. It’s mostly available when we need it, even during peak hours or heavy data loads.
I would give it a 9 because it works smooth with our AI and analytics tools, no major slowdown. Pages and dashboards load fine most of the time, and reports finish in decent time even when data is heavy.
