Review Of IBM Cloud Virtual Servers
Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers
We are replacing our datacenter for infrastructure as a service. We have some racks and our rent data center, so we decided to move to the cloud and stop buying expensive hardware while getting more infrastructure. It is more cost-effective to go to the cloud for our infrastructure and our datacenter.
- Citrix Services
- ERP Solutions
- DRP on premises.
- Citrix Provisioning Services
- We have servers running 24/7 with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers.
- We do need to buy more guarantees per server every 3 years.
In Colombia, IBM is an expensive solution because we pay in USD. But now, we found a financial solution with Cloud Virtual Servers that make our costs/prices static. If we have a more detailed solution, we can have more financially effective costs. When we were buying hardware and paying warranties in USD dollars it was more expensive but now, we don't have to think about that.
We do not move too much so we do not need reserved capacity. It is a characteristic that in our projects we estimate and factor in how we will grow. When we have Citrix projects, we have facilities in which we buy only the back-end servers in the first months, and when we have to go to production we buy the required servers to obtain a more effective solution.
We selected IBM because they have representative partners in Colombia. We must have the price in our local currency, so buying them through the local distribution channels makes the solution the cheapest and makes maintaining the architecture easier.
