Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers

Our production, testing, and dev servers all run IBM Cloud VPC.
  • Identity management - we are able to set different roles and access levels for the users.
  • Rest APIs makes it so easy to automate certain tasks.
  • IBM Cloud cost calculator determines the estimated costs and helps utilize the resources effectively.
  • They have a great support team.
  • Needs to add scheduled snapshot feature.
  • Should add more regions in the VPC.
  • Definitely needs to improve the documentation.
  • We could get more CPU and RAM for lesser price. So we were able to support more users.
We have only 4 virtual server instances on the IBM Cloud. We never had to reserve machines.
Dedicated hosts drastically improved the application's stability and performance. The application was able to utilize resources like CPU and RAM to their fullest.
  • IBM Cloud Foundry
  • IBM Cloud Object Storage
IBM Cloud has two types of infrastructure, classic and VPC infrastructure. Classic is their existing IaaS platform. It doesn't support IAM, but it has more regions and customization options. It also supports bare-metal and virtual servers. Whereas, VPC infrastructure is their new IaaS platform suitable for cloud-native applications. It only supports virtual servers. They both cost the same. So choose one that meets your needs.
