Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloud Virtual Servers

Flexible and scalable compute is a cornerstone of the cloud revolution. IBM Cloud Virtual Servers allows us to spin up any number of virtual machines of varying configurations to support our system's workload. The ability to scale up on demand allows us to support [our] user base throughout changes.
  • Effortless scalability
  • High SLA and very reliable
  • Good client APIs to scale on demand
  • User interface can be improved
  • Can always make more affordable
  • Much more robust scalability than on premise solution
  • Cost savings due to machine configuration flexibility
  • More powerful machines for improved performance
We haven't used the transient virtual server offering, but it should save a lot in costs.
We have not reserved servers before.
We most often pick a region to spin up in but that is all. We have not chosen a specific host before.
I think both IBM Cloud Virtual Servers and Google Compute Engine are good products. Each works the best when they are being used with other solutions in their respective clouds. When products in each ecosystem are used in conjunction, they work really well. When working with IBM Cloud products, we tend to use IBM Cloud Virtual Servers and have found a lot of success.
  • IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service
  • IBM Cloud Container Registry
  • IBM Cloud Object Storage
  • IBM Cloud Databases
When using the various IBM Cloud products, we have found that they have the greatest return on investment when they are being used in conjunction with each other. We use several of the IBM Cloud products and have found that they mesh quite nicely. Oftentimes, the solutions rely on one another so they work really well together.
IBM Cloud Virtual Servers is the perfect solution for scaling compute in the IBM Cloud ecosystem. The machine configurations are very flexible and can scale as many nodes as needed to support the current load on the system. It is less appropriate if a more managed service is needed — IBM's Kubernetes offering would work well in this case.
