Overall Satisfaction with IBM Cloudability
We are in the middle of our cloud transformation journey and starting to migrate more and more work loads to the cloud. IBM Cloudability has been helping our finance team a easy to use view where they can go and view our cloud spend. The fact that we have a multi cloud strategy, this product allows us to manage our spend better across vendors.
Pros
- Multi cloud data aggregation along with easy to view dashboards
- Operational Efficiency
- Automation for behind the scenes cost management and allocatoin
Cons
- Sometimes it is difficult to integrate with internal billing systems
- Customized recommendations for improving the cost efficiency would be nice
- Integration or having native workflows to enforce accountability would be great
- Provided more transparency to the tech and finance team on the cost of operations and areas where we can optimize
- Allows us to better predict our TCS for future cloud migration based on the current applications moved to cloud
- Correct chargeback of day 2 cost to different BUs ensure that there are no surprises on the operational costs after we move to the cloud for any particular application
- None
Not there yet but once we have more applications in the cloud, it may make sense to integrate with other Apptio products
We tried a few different tools as part of a POC but the fact that there is the IBM name attached to Apptio and just the complexity of our enterprise systems was something that we felt was best served by the IBM Cloudability tool. It integrated seamlessly with the multiple cloud vendors we use
