Overall Satisfaction with IBM Guardium
It helps with compliance through built-in templates like GDPR and PCI-DSS and we also rely on it for real-time alerts when anything unusual happens with user behavior. I use IBM Guardium to monitor who’s accessing sensitive data across our on-prem and cloud databases.
Pros
- it tracks and alerts on unauthorized access and odd behavior before things get serious
- it supports both on-prem and cloud databases, which is great because we use a mix
- the built-in templates for compliance like GDPR saved us tons of time
Cons
- the initial configuration and deployment was a bit time consuming for me
- it took me a while to get used to where everything is
- some reports do lag a bit
- we save time and reduce errors with automated audit reports
- it’s cut down on manual work and helped us respond to issues faster
- we feel more confident staying compliant and secure across all our data sources
I find the real-time data monitoring and classification features super useful in my role. It tracks every bit of activity—who accessed what, when, and how. Also, the alerts are made to be acted on, not just noise.
IBM Guardium helped us catch potential breaches early and stay aligned with internal policies and it also made audits less stressful and saved a lot of effort on compliance checks. Honestly, before this, we were blind to a lot unless someone raised a flag manually.
