Overall Satisfaction with IBM Instana
We need observability to continuously monitor the production systems. In case of any incident, we use Instana to see the change in telemetry.
- Telemetry Data aggregation
- User Experience
- Feature to create custom dashboards
- Discoverability of Trace Id and actual api call's logs can be improved.
- Feature to create custom metrics should be added. Like in some cases I need uptime percentage. For that currently I need to combine basic metrics and then calculate uptime percentage. There are other use cases as well.
- Ability to look at metrics at a service level without any manual configuration or onboarding cycle.
- Ability to create custom dashboard.
- Ability to monitor at an infrastructure level.
- Ability to send alerts.
- Turn around time to debug issue has reduced to some extent
- AppDynamics and New Relic
AppDynamics requires a lot of manual configuration for basic API monitoring.
New Relic is very costly.
