Overall Satisfaction with IBM Planning Analytics

Currently, Analytics is used across the university for forecasting, trending, future planning, and current statistics for enrollment, retention, and graduation. We have the initiative to develop and deploy new modernized dashboards to further support a tech-forward campus culture change through the use of data. Data-driven decisions are also on the roadmap and strategic plan to ensure decisions are made with data.
  • Analytics
  • Forecasting
  • Dashboards
  • Ease of use
  • Visual content
  • We have been able to start seeing the ROI from our initiatives to increase enrollment.
This is feature is important to the university in where it has significantly assisted in decision making for optional routes to take based on data and projected outcomes.
We have used Cognos in the past and found that although it is a powerful analytics tool it is not set up to support Higher education. We enjoy the ease of use and storyboarding analytics has to offer within a platform that is simple but yet complex to support our top priorities.

Do you think IBM Planning Analytics delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with IBM Planning Analytics's feature set?

Yes

Did IBM Planning Analytics live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of IBM Planning Analytics go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy IBM Planning Analytics again?

Yes

I gave analytics this rating for the features, ease of use, and the ability to utilize the what-if scenarios. It has been a great tool for the university thus far.
Its overall usability is one of the key reasons why we decided to move away from Cognos BI. It is less complicated to use and end-user can more effectively and efficiently use the tool with training and little interaction with IT.
Analytics is a great tool for supporting campus initiatives. Multiple departments have been able to learn and utilize the analytics tools to create and publish their own reports and run scheduled reports for compliance and mandatory reporting.
