Overall Satisfaction with IBM Power Virtual Server

We use IBM Power Virtual Server to run our mission-critical applications. It is great for reliability and flexibility. We can run multiple LPARs on one physical server to get the best performance and make the best use of the resources.

Pros

  • Sharing of physical resources.
  • Performance and reliability.
  • Ability to move workloads from one physical server to another.

Cons

  • Better ability to monitor all the resources in a pool.
  • Gives us the ability to run multiple applications on a single server.
  • Allows to easily move workloads to perform maintenance.
Power Virtual Servers stacks up well against the competition. It's easy to use and highly reliable. I would recommend it over any of the other solutions.
