Overall Satisfaction with IBM POWER9 Servers
We use IBM POWER9 Servers as a copy of our production system for testing and development. I also install, configure, and support IBM POWER9 Servers.
Pros
- It is very stable and reliable. 99.999% uptime.
- The system is an all in one box containing most everything we need for business processes.
- It comes with everything you need for security to secure the system and keep your information safe.
Cons
- I think education around the platform and resources to help people learn how to use it could be better and more easily available.
- It is a little bit of a specialized system but once you get to know how it works it's not bad. There is a learning curve.
- The IBM POWER9 server allows us to handle many customers' business requirements and helps us have a quicker time to market.
- We can manage the workload with a team of 4 people supporting the platform with over 1,300 users.
We haven't evaluated other systems that I know of. We have been running IBM systems for over 20 years.
