Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it to speed up the access of remote employees to applications they need, in a secure and controlled way. Before using it, this process was slow and inconsistent due to internal IT procedures. Now it is really better because managers can take decisions faster without depending directly on IT, and teams can perform sooner and more efficiently.

Reliability and Availability

I was not directly involved in deployment (I am a user), but I know that our IT needed a lot of support because the product is not completely self-based. A few things went wrong but were solved in the end, with the provider´s support. Maybe the product could be more friendly for deployment with better documentation for customers.

Product Configurability

From my perspective (user) the product is perfect for our needs. We actually do not have a complex scenario, but I believe that the product is suitable for most demands regarding security control on data and application authorization for teams and/or users. We didn´t need complex integrations because our processes are simple, but we know that there were several possibilities to deploy a more customized solution if we needed it.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Azure Active Directory and JumpCloud

I believe that the decision for selecting IBM Security Verify was based on our IT technical analysis but also due to our trust that this provider would deploy a solution according to our needs and expectations. The free trial made it possible to test it and understand, at an early stage, if it was the type of solution we were looking for. Previous recommendations and pricing were also important issues for this decision process.

I believe it can be very useful depending on your IT competencies and experience because deployment can be difficult. Despite that, the product is very stable, with good reporting and security control options. Our processes to control data and application access improved a lot, and most importantly, are much faster than before. Today we have low or no dependency on IT for most of our needs. It is important to test it and check if the product is exactly what you need.
