Overall Satisfaction with IBM WebSphere Hybrid Edition
I'm very impressed with IBM WebSphere Hybrid Edition, especially the WebSphere Liberty runtime. As an admin, I've found that it's much simpler, lightweight, and faster than the traditional WebSphere Application Server (tWAS) that we've been using for years. WebSphere Liberty is not only suitable for traditional VM environments but is also purpose-built for the cloud with super-fast startup times and low memory requirements.
- Containerization of our apps is effortless.
- Transformation Advisor (TA), which scans code to identify the suitability of using WebSphere Liberty, identifies what needs to change, provides an estimate on the effort required, and helps generate the server.xml file
- It is lightweight.
- Application of mono2Micro to refactor apps to microservices is very challenging complex.
- Transformation advisor.
- Mono2micro for refactoring apps to microservices.
- Licensing
- It has simplified license management, allowing us to have one license pool rather than multiple pools for WAS-ND, WAS-base, and Liberty-core
- It is easy for developers to build and deploy containerized applications as it offers container support.
- Modernized applications.
