Overall Satisfaction with InterSystems IRIS
We use InterSystems IRIS to work with NHS Trusts to solve their interoperability issues and help develop a more Digital Healthcare system in the UK. I have used multiple InterSystems products to solve customers' interoperability issues/needs, and all do a fantastic job. The technology is incredibly fast, robust, scalable, and intuitive to use.
- The database, integration engine, and Load balancer are all in one place. This is advantageous because there are no hidden costs and it is also far easier to set up the network configuration.
- The sales engineers are very willing to help in any situation and they are also incredibly knowledgeable about the product. They often offer more than one solution to your problem, as well as providing the pros & cons of such solutions.
- Extremely fast & reliable compared to other integration engines. The intuitive nature of the GUI also allows you to easily locate errors, resend messages, and just get a general understanding of what is going on.
- The documentation can be excellent for some things but then is non-existent for explaining other things. There should be more consistency in the level of the documentation on offer.
- Not all the methods for classes work, in particular, I have found half the methods for EnsLib.Rest.Service does not work, and doesn't provide any examples of how to use them (e.g. ReportHTTPStatusCode()).

- Intuitive nature allows you to quickly upskill in this technology, and thus you can offer customers a better service, which leads to more profits (in general).
- The reliability of IRIS allows us to maintain strong working relationships with customers, and they recommend us to other potential customers, which leads to more profits (in general).
- Scalability - We can scale IRIS as demands increase, thus allowing us to always meet customers' needs, which leads to more profits (in general).
