Overall Satisfaction with ion interactive

  • A/B testing - switching out images and text.
  • We were sold on the fact that it's easy to use and a non-developer can use it. However, every time we needed to create a form or use sliders where javascript/jquery was needed, we had to get developers to help either from Ion interactive or our own team. So conclusion: it's not easy to use.
  • When A/B testing the URL doesn't change so when submitting forms to Eloqua (where we collect the data) we don't know which A/B link it came from. We figured out a solution to this where we are passing an extra form field we've named LiveBall Template where we set the value to A or B so we know. Would be nice if there was a query variable in the URL we could modify.
  • Would be nice to have reporting showing heat spots where user clicks most etc on a landing page.
  • Since we didn't have a tool before like this were we could A/B test, ROI has been positive. We like the tool. We just don't like that it's not very easy to use nor very intuitive.
Advice i would give a colleague is to just be aware that if they want to do form A/B testing or add javascript (i.e. not just text and image a/b testing) then they will need to have a developer using the product.

Using ion interactive

Because unless I find something better to replace it with, we're probably going to renew our contract.
Ideally, Ion interactive can update Liveball so it's easier to use, more functionality that includes forms and javascript options currently not in place.
