Ivanti Endpoint manager; great choice for global manufacturers
Overall Satisfaction with Ivanti Endpoint Manager (formerly LANDESK Management Suite)
Ivanti Endpoint Manager (IEM) is used by our organization to distribute software to client endpoints, distribute security patches, and collect inventory data about the hardware and software that our associates use. It is primarily used by the IT department to allow us to manage the endpoints. It increases our security profile, ensures that user's software stays updated, and keeps support cost lower by driving homogeneity, and increased automation.
Pros
- Collects inventory data that allows us to manage software licenses more accurately.
- Distributes security patches, not just for Microsoft OS, but also for third-party applications.
- Makes installation of standard software across multiple geographies simple.
Cons
- Provisioning is not as simple to implement as it could be.
- There are often multiple ways to accomplish a task, and it isn't always clear which path is the best.
- Much improved security profile, due to increased ability to get all patches widely distributed.
- Reduced remote support cost by reducing need for additional remote control tools
IEM beats our old solution due to widest solution set. It does more, and does it more successfully and more thoroughly, that any other solution out there.
