Overall Satisfaction with Jahia Digital Experience Platform

I'm in charge of products implying Jahia for several clients. I'm quite active in pre-sales and project management and I like to keep a technical focus and be able to act as an expert or a developer on that CMS. I also keep a focus on my previous GIS experience and web mapping integration.
  • User Experience : Jahia is especially simple to use for all user roles including visitors, content editors, reviewers, editors in chief, administrators and developers
  • Integration : Jahia is a developer friendly CMS developped in Java and based on cool features such as OSGI enabling hot deployement and reducing risks of unwanted interactions between modules and sites
  • Well integrated Form Factory
  • Enterprise Feautres such as marketting automation tools
  • Review workflows are not as intuitive as you'd imagine. This is an area in the UX where the editor has work to do. It works well but it could be more intuitive
  • Pricing should be more progressive and more aggressive
  • Jahia deserves more publicity. The product is excellent but nobody knows it. The editor should focus on marketing.

Do you think Jahia Digital Experience Platform delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Jahia Digital Experience Platform's feature set?

Yes

Did Jahia Digital Experience Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Jahia Digital Experience Platform go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Jahia Digital Experience Platform again?

Yes

  • The full Enterprise package with Form Factory and Marketing Factory included provides the best user experience as the sites are more dynamic and adapt themselves to end users profiles. You are likely to get a much better targeting of the content this way, but of course it has a cost
  • Jahia is robust and reliable and is a good base to build up on digital transformation
Hot module deployment improved that rating drastically compared to previous versions.
Usually very reactive
Jahia is well suited if at leats one of the situations occure :

- Important UX requirements
- Integration projects
- Multi-sites, multi-language
- Different sites development by different teams that should fit in one shared instance
- High availability, clustering
- High load, high performance
- Need for a headless CMS
- A/B testing and market automation
- Stable architecture with limited risks of incompatibilities between modules
- Excellent support from the editor in enterprise distribution

There is a free community distribution that can be used as entry level, but as soon as a project becomes critical I'd strongly recommend the enterprise distribution. While subscription costs of the enterprise distribution are relatively low compared to ones of other enterprise CMS, they could be more progressive and can be problematic for intermediate projects. This is mainly a problem for the first site at a client, as the subscription costs don't directly depend on the number of deployed sites.
