Overall Satisfaction with KanbanFlow
KanbanFlow is a very basic piece of workflow management software for anyone who uses the "Kanban" methodology for tracking their work. For the uninitiated, Kanban is a method without any specifically defined sprints where work moves through defined "swimlanes" as it progresses. People doing the work are free to pick up any task that is ready for work and are responsible for moving it through this process. Kanban lets you customize swimlanes and then allow your team to manage their tasks through this process.
- Kanban worfklow management
- Team collaboration and project management
- Software development and project tracking
- [I feel] the UI for creating new tasks is pretty clunky and unintuitive
- Drag and drop features don't work as smoothly as you would expect [in my experience]
- Creating visibility of the status of all open work items
- Allowed for self-service ownership of projects by stakeholders
The obvious competitor to KanbanFlow is Jira. They are such different pieces of software. Jira is bloated, integrated with everything and optimized for a sprint-based working methodology. KanbanFlow is lean, rough around the edges, and really only works if you are using Kanban to manage your projects. I don't think that it's a matter of choosing between these two pieces of software, it's a matter of picking how you are going to work and then choosing the software that makes the most sense for that approach.
