Overall Satisfaction with KnowBe4 PhishER

As a KnowBe4 shop (Security Awareness Training and Phishing Outlook Plugin) getting the PhishER plugin was a no brainer. Basically it solves the problem of having to hand research every email that users submit as suspected phishing. This tool does the heavy lifting by analyzing and reporting on only the few emails that need our attention.
  • Cloud web interface requires no client to be installed
  • Good response from support when issues crop up
  • LDAP integration to import all your users in one shot
  • Recurring pricing for licensing is on the higher end
  • More phishing tools available to the user could help save IT staff time
  • A tool to run suspected files in a virtual environment is needed
  • Can't put a value on the time saved examining user submitted emails that the system now handles on its own
  • In the long run this is all meant to save us from some malware or ransomware. So ROI may not be able to be calculated on the cost but security is priceless
  • Getting users educated on being careful opening message they dont recognize is the first step. Giving them tools to submit and have automatic scanning of suspected phishing is the next local step.

We all know that our users are really our first line of defense against hackers. And since our email filters are not able to catch the newest phishing messages, our users are really tasked with determining whats safe and whats not. With KnowBe4 training, you can get them educated but there are many times the user will need to submit suspected messages. With PhishER now we can save hours each day trying to determine if something is legit or not.
